Kuroi and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  The tree is up and the stockings have been hung (of course we get presents in our stockings too!)  While there is a lot of glitter and glam, there are also many holiday hazards for us.  We don’t know what water is safe to drink, heck we drink out of creeks, lakes, and some dogs even drink out of toilets (not me, that’s disgusting.)  So please be sure to keep your pets away from the tree water, it contains preservatives that can be harmful to us.  I do not have an attention span like, Kuroi, he sees something shiny and he chases it.  So please be careful with your decorations!  Things like tinsel, ribbons and some ornaments can cause an upset stomach or even worse a foreign body!  While poinsettias, lilies and mistletoe aren’t shiny they too can be toxic.  No matter what time of the year, it’s always important to make sure we don’t floss our teeth with electrical cords as that could cause shock, burns and sometimes death (yikes!)  Sorry for sounding like the Grinch, I just want all the pets out there to have a very Merry Christmas!
