Dr. Jennifer Mahan
Veterinarian and Practice Owner

Dr. Jennifer Mahan grew up in Northeastern Ohio in a small town called Chardon. She was active in 4-H (raising a grand champion pig) and racing sled dogs. She was the first person East of the Mississippi River to race and finish the Jr. Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska. She was also very active in showing Siberian Huskies at both 4-H and AKC shows. Dr. Mahan attended The Ohio State University for her undergraduate degree and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (graduating in 2009). Her first year out of veterinary school she practiced mixed animal medicine in rural Wisconsin, working on companion animals and dairy cows.  She fulfilled a dream of owning her own practice in July of 2013 when her and her husband opened Riverview Animal Hospital.  Dr. Mahan’s husband, Anthony Mahan, Esq. is an attorney practicing in both Ohio and Kentucky (www.mahanlaw.com). While she is not at work Dr. Mahan enjoys hanging out with her husband and sons, playing with their dog, Watson, and cat, Kuroi.

Dr. Mahan is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), KVMA (Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association), ISDVMA (International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association), member and Past President of the CVMA (Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Assoication) and the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners.)

Dr. Jamie Todd
Veterinarian

Dr. Jamie Todd is returning to Kentucky in order to get back to her roots and move closer to family after living in Arizona for the past 3 years. She is a graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, AL. Prior to attending veterinary school, she obtained her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.

Dr. Todd is originally from Ashland, Kentucky, and moved to Alabama to obtain her veterinary degree where she met her husband Jeremy. Upon graduating vet school, they decided to move out west to Arizona for some different scenery. They just had their first child, Conrad Wesley, in March of 2021. In addition, the couple also has a chocolate lab named Daisy, a corgi named Mosby, and a domestic shorthair named Boocat.
Dr. Todd’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and preventive care. She strongly believes in the importance of the human-animal bond and focuses on building trusting relationships with clients and their furry loved ones.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Todd loves spending time with her family, traveling, and attending concerts.

Briana
Veterinary Assistant

Briana was born and raised in Cincinnati. She grew up in a loving home filled with animals like dogs, cats, fish, and bunnies. Her passion working with animals began at a young age when she would volunteer for her local animal shelter walking dogs and playing with cats. She would later go on to be a kennel assistant at that shelter before eventually moving to Indiana where she started her first job at a veterinary hospital. She has worked as a kennel assistant and veterinary nurse since 2018 and hopes to continue gaining knowledge and experience working with small animals in the coming years. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and visiting all the local parks. She currently lives in a small town in Ohio with her boyfriend, Cohen, her puggle, Joey, and her cat, Peaches.

Maya
Veterinary Assistant

Maya was born and raised in Newport Kentucky. She is an undergraduate student at Northern Kentucky University with a major in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry on a Pre-Veterinarian track. She has always had a love for animals and wants to have hands on experience with them. She wants to learn all that she can about animals and what being a Veterinarian is all about. She has always dreamed of having tons of animals, but currently only has one cat named Oliver. She is a huge Seahawks football fan and loves to watch professional soccer. When she is not at school or at work, she likes to play with her cat, hang out with family and friends, watch sports, and go shopping. Her goal is to graduate from Northern Kentucky University and go to Vet school to become a small animal Veterinarian.

Olivia
Veterinary Assistant

Olivia was born and raised in Lexington, KY. Growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, horses, and a variety of small animals, her passion for animal care began at a very young age. Olivia completed a high school career education course with a few different veterinary hospitals, peaking her interest in the field. She left Lexington in 2018 to pursue a degree in Medical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. During her time at UC, she volunteered weekly with Found House IHN’s Pet Program Shelter and completed her capstone service project with Ohio Alleycat Resource. Since graduating in May 2022, Olivia is thrilled to work as a Veterinary Assistant and plans to return to school to become a LVT in the coming years. In her personal life, she enjoys weightlifting, music, and browsing vintage clothing and furniture. However, her favorite time is spent with her cat, Tadpole.

Addi
Veterinary Assistant

Addi was born and raised in Alexandria, KY. She currently resides in Bellevue, KY and is an undergraduate student at Morehead State University with a major in Veterinary Technology. She plans to become an LVT upon graduating and later pursuing a specialty in Exotic Companion Animals, earning her VTS. Her passion for working with animals really began when she shadowed at a vet clinic her freshman year of high school, sparking her interest in the field. She wants to get all the hands-on experience she can with different animals while still in school, but her goal is to work with exotics and become an advocate for the care they deserve. In addition to her passion in veterinary medicine, Addi has another passion in theatre. She has been in over 13 productions and 3 short films! In her free time, she enjoys reading a good book, going to museums, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her bunny, Topaz.

Alayna
Veterinary Assistant

Alayna was born and raised in central Illinois. She grew up on a small farm with multiple cats, dogs, bunnies, and her horse named Penny. Penny was her first animal she called her own which sparked her love for learning more about veterinary medicine. After high school she went to pursue her veterinary technology degree at Murray State University while competing for the universities track and field team. She graduated in 2021 with her bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology. Throughout college she was very involved in volunteering at the local shelters and working at a small vet clinic back in Illinois on university breaks. After college she moved to Cincinnati to pursue a career in veterinary technology with her two dogs, Nala and Layla.

Matthew
Practice Manager

Matthew grew up on a farm in Jeffersonville, Ohio where he was in frequent contact with a multitude of livestock and companion animals from an early age. He graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2011 with a BFA in Graphic Design and soon after moved to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area where he rediscovered his lifelong passion for animal wellbeing.  In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his wife Vanessa, their 2 dogs, and 4 cats.

Kelsey
Client Service Representative

Kelsey was born and raised in Burlington, Kentucky and currently resides in Elsmere. She is a wife and a mother of 3 boys and 8 fur babies. She has four cats (Jamie, Khamira, Honeycup, and Littlefoot), two Pembroke Welsh Corgi’s (Daisy and Daphne), and two beagle mixes (Bolt and Eowyn). Her love of animals started at a very young age with her family’s first cat, Emily, and has continued to grow ever since. She came to Riverview Animal Hospital after 11 years in the healthcare field, including experience in pharmacy, sterile processing, and patient registration. She enjoys family golf outings, relaxing with a good book, watching comedies, playing video games, and being outdoors.

Erin
Client Service Representative

Erin is an undergraduate Environmental Engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. She grew up in West Chester Ohio where she played tennis in high school. She is also a lifelong skier and has a love for anything outdoors. She lives in the company of her ferret, Luna, and her dog, Kaiser, a Bernese mountain dog mix.

Daimiel
Client Service Representative

Daimiel was raised in Bayonne, NJ and grew up raising a number of different animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, and fish.  She worked in the interior design industry for 15 years as a kitchen designer before deciding that she needed a career change and wanted to work with animals, hoping to oneday get involved with fostering and rescuing.  She currently resides in Bellevue with her dog – Kobayashi, and cat – Maru.  In her free time she enjoys crocheting, exploring museums, and playing video games.

Nikki
Client Service Representative

Nikki was born and raised in Northern Kentucky and attended Lloyd Memorial High School.  After nearly ten years of working with adults with disabilities, she took two years off to raise her son, Max, and during that time also gave birth to her daughter, Marlo. Upon returning to the workforce, she decided to pursue a position in a veterinary hospital to fulfill a desire she had to work with animals. Nikki currently reside in Delhi Township with her husband Eric, their three children, three dogs and two cats. During her spare time she enjoys taking in what Cincinnati has to offer, with family visits to the museums and the zoo as well as listening to live music.

Melanie
Client Service Representative

Melanie was raised in Bethel, Ohio, a small town Southeast of Cincinnati.  She had many pets growing up, including dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrrets.   She currently resides in Burlington, KY with her husband, Chris, and her daughter, Keeley, 3 dogs and 4 cats.  When not at work, she can be found reading a good book or cheering on her favorite sports teams, especially FC Cincinnati!

Peggy
Client Service Representative

Peggy has lived in Northern Kentucky her whole life. She graduated from Bishop Brossart High School and attended Northern Kentucky University.  Peggy recently retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center after 29+ years in an administrative supervisory role in the Rehabilitation Care area.  At retirement she joined the Riverview Animal Hospital administrative team on a part time basis. Peggy, with her husband Steve, have three adult children and five dogs.  She also has 5 grand-dogs that live very close! In her spare time, she is a volunteer with Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) and has held many positions within SAAP since she began volunteering in February 2013. She is also co-coordinator of the SAAP Search & Rescue team.

Caleb
Kennel Assistant

Caleb was born and raised in Dayton,KY. He has always had a love for animals! His family had their dog Lacey for 14 years until she passed away in December of 2020 from Cancer. They now have a wonderful dog named Winnie who they love so much! He has always wanted to have a hands on experience in helping care for animals! In his free time he loves adventuring & Hanging out with his Family & Friends. He also has a Love for coffee and Music, Specifically the Piano!
