Happy April Fools Day! No I am not here to play a trick on you, but to tell you about how your cat may be playing a trick on you! Did you know that cats are great at hiding signs of diseases and don’t show us signs until the diseases are often very progressed? My brother, Kuroi cat, has regular blood work to screen for underlying diseases such as thyroid disease, kidney disease, liver disease and more. Being able to see trends in the blood work allows your veterinarian to know when your cat may be fooling you and is actually sick. Riverview strongly recommends annual blood work for any senior pet 7 years of age or older along with an annual comprehensive physical exam.
