So I know that I get along great with Kuroi, the cat, that lives with me. But I know many dogs that don’t like cats and then there are cats that don’t like dogs. Heck, even Kuroi can get terrified going to the vets. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t need regular annual checkups! Cats are notorious for hiding diseases and acting “healthy.” Did you know that 1 out of 10 pets appear healthy to their owners and even to the veterinarians but they really have underlying diseases? That’s where bloodwork plays a part in detecting diseases early! I don’t mind holding out my paw for my blood to be drawn to detect for diseases early. And if it’s all normal, that’s even better to have a comparison as I age. Never mind me, let’s get back to Kuroi. He turned 7 years old this year, do you know how old that is in human years? 44 years old! A 13 year old cat is similar to a 68 year old human! That’s crazy bark! So in order to catch diseases early and to keep your cat healthy, Riverview Animal Hospital is having a cat friendly day on Thursday November 13th. There will be no barking dogs in the lobby and everyone that has a cat that is seen that day will get a gift bag! AND everyone will be entered to win this really neat raffle basket! But there’s more, anyone that gets bloodwork done on their cat will get a FREE exam and FREE vaccine (either rabies or FVRCP). Kuroi is super excited for cat friendly day, I even caught him resting up for the big event!
