Dr. Jennifer Mahan
Veterinarian and Practice Owner

Dr. Jennifer Mahan grew up in Northeastern Ohio in a small town called Chardon. She was active in 4-H (raising a grand champion pig) and racing sled dogs. She was the first person East of the Mississippi River to race and finish the Jr. Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska. She was also very active in showing Siberian Huskies at both 4-H and AKC shows. Dr. Mahan attended The Ohio State University for her undergraduate degree and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (graduating in 2009). Her first year out of veterinary school she practiced mixed animal medicine in rural Wisconsin, working on companion animals and dairy cows.  She fulfilled a dream of owning her own practice in July of 2013 when her and her husband opened Riverview Animal Hospital.  Dr. Mahan’s husband, Anthony Mahan, Esq. is an attorney practicing in both Ohio and Kentucky (www.mahanlaw.com). While she is not at work Dr. Mahan enjoys hanging out with her husband and sons, playing with their dogs, Watson and Haru, and cat, Chicken Nugget.

Dr. Mahan is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), KVMA (Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association), member and Past President of the CVMA (Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association) and the AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners.)

Dr. Jamie Todd
Veterinarian

Dr. Jamie Todd is returning to Kentucky in order to get back to her roots and move closer to family after living in Arizona for the past 3 years. She is a graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, AL. Prior to attending veterinary school, she obtained her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.

Dr. Todd is originally from Ashland, Kentucky, and moved to Alabama to obtain her veterinary degree where she met her husband Jeremy. Upon graduating vet school, they decided to move out west to Arizona for some different scenery. They just had their first child, Conrad Wesley, in March of 2021. In addition, the couple also has a chocolate lab named Daisy, a corgi named Mosby, and a domestic shorthair named Boocat.
Dr. Todd’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and preventive care. She strongly believes in the importance of the human-animal bond and focuses on building trusting relationships with clients and their furry loved ones.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Todd loves spending time with her family, traveling, and attending concerts.

Leah
Licensed Veterinary Technician

Leah was born and raised in Lexington, Ky. She attended Morehead State University where she obtained a degree in Veterinary Technology in May of 2024. Leah passed my boards shortly after and became a LVT in the state of Kentucky. Her experience includes small animal emergency medicine, lab animal medicine, and equine medicine. Leah’s favorite part about working in general practice is building lasting relationships with clients and patients! A fun fact about Leah is that she has played the cello for 13 years! She originally went to the University of Louisville to pursue a degree in music before switching to Morehead to pursue veterinary medicine!

Morgan
Veterinary Assistant

Morgan was born and raised in Seymour, Indiana but recently moved to Cincinnati for a fresh start. She has 2 dogs, Finn and Taco, that she loves dearly. Morgan loves concerts, amusement parks and cooking! In her free time, you can find her reading, binge-watching a good tv series, or walking her pups!

Kylie
Veterinary Assistant

Kylie was born and raised in Northern Kentucky and attended high school at Bishop Brossart in Alexandria. She is currently a student at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash pursuing a career as a Veterinary Technician. She enjoys being with all her animals including her dog Shadow, cats Reese, Biscuit, Nala, and Tommie, and bearded dragon Spike. Kylie also works with the Cincinnati Cyclones as a member of the Ice Crew and as an assistant coach for the 12U Northern Kentucky Norse hockey team. Kylie has always had it in her heart that she was meant to help animals, no matter the size or species!

McKenna
Veterinary Assistant

McKenna was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. She has been attending the University of Cincinnati and plans to graduate with a degree in biological sciences and head to vet school afterwards! During her sophomore year at UC, she decided she wanted a furry friend and got Zella, her aussie doodle. In her free time, McKenna enjoys Pilate classes, concerts, visiting new coffee shops, going to the dog park with Zella, and volunteering at animal shelters.

Alayna
Lead Veterinary Assistant

Alayna was born and raised in central Illinois. She grew up on a small farm with multiple cats, dogs, bunnies, and her horse named Penny. Penny was her first animal she called her own which sparked her love for learning more about veterinary medicine. After high school she went to pursue her veterinary technology degree at Murray State University while competing for the universities track and field team. She graduated in 2021 with her bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology. Throughout college she was very involved in volunteering at the local shelters and working at a small vet clinic back in Illinois on university breaks. After college she moved to Cincinnati to pursue a career in veterinary technology with her two dogs, Nala and Layla.

Kelsey
Client Service Representative

Kelsey was born and raised in Burlington, Kentucky and currently resides in Elsmere. She is a wife and a mother of 3 boys and 8 fur babies. She has four cats (Jamie, Khamira, Honeycup, and Littlefoot), two Pembroke Welsh Corgi’s (Daisy and Daphne), and two beagle mixes (Bolt and Eowyn). Her love of animals started at a very young age with her family’s first cat, Emily, and has continued to grow ever since. She came to Riverview Animal Hospital after 11 years in the healthcare field, including experience in pharmacy, sterile processing, and patient registration. She enjoys family golf outings, relaxing with a good book, watching comedies, playing video games, and being outdoors.

Abby
Client Service Representative

Abigail was born and raised in New Richmond Ohio where she was surrounded by livestock and small animals. She is currently an undergraduate at the University is Cincinnati studying Sport Administration. Her passion for animals began at a young age and continued through her life as she often volunteered at the local animal shelter and would foster animals in need. She currently resides in Bellevue KY alongside her boyfriend and their cat Stache, two dogs Ralphie and Lenny, and large mouth bass Jimmy. She likes to spend her free time playing video games and shopping.

Katelyn
Client Service Representative

Katelyn was raised in California, Kentucky and currently resides in Highland Heights. She grew up on a cattle ranch and had many pets throughout her childhood that fostered her love of animals. Katelyn attended Campbell County High School as well as Northern Kentucky University where she acquired an Associate of the Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. When she’s not working, Katelyn enjoys spending time with her family, playing video games, and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds!

Izzy
Client Service Representative

Izzy was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio where he grew up with multiple dogs until he rescued one himself that ended up being his entire world. His name is Ceri and he’s a red pit terrier mix that is full of love and energy. Izzy spends most of his time 3D printing cosplay items, costumes and making other artwork, as well as playing video games.

Dee
Lead Client Service Representative

Dee was raised in Bayonne, NJ and grew up raising a number of different animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, and a few fish. She worked in the interior design industry for 15 years as a kitchen designer before deciding that she needed a career change and wanted to work with animals, hoping to one day get involved with fostering and rescuing. She currently resides in Cincinnati with her cat Maroo, who likes to steal bread when no one is looking. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, exploring museums, and playing video games.

Nikki
Client Service Representative

Nikki was born and raised in Northern Kentucky and attended Lloyd Memorial High School.  After nearly ten years of working with adults with disabilities, she took two years off to raise her son, Max, and during that time also gave birth to her daughter, Marlo. Upon returning to the workforce, she decided to pursue a position in a veterinary hospital to fulfill a desire she had to work with animals. Nikki currently reside in Delhi Township with her husband Eric, their three children, three dogs and two cats. During her spare time she enjoys taking in what Cincinnati has to offer, with family visits to the museums and the zoo as well as listening to live music.

Melanie
Client Service Representative

Melanie was raised in Bethel, Ohio, a small town Southeast of Cincinnati.  She had many pets growing up, including dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrrets.   She currently resides in Burlington, KY with her husband, Chris, and her daughter, Keeley, 3 dogs and 4 cats.  When not at work, she can be found reading a good book or cheering on her favorite sports teams, especially FC Cincinnati!

Peggy
Clinic Mom

Peggy has lived in Northern Kentucky her whole life. She graduated from Bishop Brossart High School and attended Northern Kentucky University.  Peggy recently retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center after 29+ years in an administrative supervisory role in the Rehabilitation Care area.  At retirement she joined the Riverview Animal Hospital administrative team on a part time basis. Peggy, with her husband Steve, have three adult children and five dogs.  She also has 5 grand-dogs that live very close! In her spare time, she is a volunteer with Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) and has held many positions within SAAP since she began volunteering in February 2013. She is also co-coordinator of the SAAP Search & Rescue team.

Marlea
Client Service Representative/ Kennel Assistant

Marlea was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She currently lives in Cincinnati Ohio with her husband and dog, Tito. Marlea has always loved animals but unfortunately grew up without any of her own. Just a month after getting married Marlea & her husband brought Tito home! In her free time Marlea loves to read, try new restaurants, go to movies and hang out with her friends.

Cate
Kennel Assistant

Cate was born and raised in Cold Spring, Kentucky and currently is a student at Campbell County High School. In the coming years, she plans to attend college and then even further her education in Vet School to obtain a Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine! Her passion for animals is very strong and she realized this at a young age, starting with her first dog, a Rottweiler-Chocolate Lab mix, Gunnar. She has been dancing competitively for 12 years and also plans to pursue this further through a college dance team. She balances this with her internship here at Riverview, the gym, schoolwork (which includes advanced, dual credit and AP classes), church events, and her relationships with friends and family. The thing she loves to do the most of all, though, is spend time with her Doberman, Ruby!

Abby
Kennel Assistant

Abby was born and raised in Southgate, Kentucky, and now currently resides in Alexandria. She is currently a student at Northern Kentucky University, pursing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. In her spare time, she likes to play guitar, video games, and sand volleyball. She has a 4 year old cat named Tux, and started working in veterinary medicine after realizing her passion for animals while working at the Cincinnati Zoo. She is currently a kennel technician here at Riverview!

Reema
Kennel Assistant

Reema was born in the United Arab Emirates and grew up in Jordan. She moved to the United States in 2017 to pursue her lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. She is a senior at the University of Cincinnati working towards her 3rd grade dream of working as either a zoo or wildlife veterinarian. Her hope is to one day return to the UAE and work at Al Ain Zoo. Reema is fluent in both Arabic and English! She also has a Great Pyrenees named Olaf who brings joy to her daily! In her free time, she loves to play soccer with friends!
