Dr. Kate Johansen

Dr. Kate Johansen was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her love for animals started at an early age and was fostered by her family’s many dogs, cats, and horses.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology before attending the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016.  Upon graduation, she completed an equine internship in Boise, Idaho.  Despite her love for horse, she decided to widen her horizons and started working on small animals in 2017, and she has loved working on them! Her veterinary interests include dentistry, ophthalmology, preventative medicine and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys running, and has completed a couple of half marathons, although she doubts she will ever be ambitious enough to complete a full marathon!  Despite not being a native of Cincinnati, she has embraced the professional sports the city has to offer and enjoys following the Reds and the Bengals.   She loves spending time at home with her husband, Eric, and their boxer mix, Ellie.
